The Coronation

In our days of Republics and Democracies, the idea of a Monarch might not be too appeasing to you. Perhaps the image of a King or a Queen for you is that of a cruel, power-hungry tyrant who doesn’t care about their subjects. Or perhaps you have been watching The Crown on Netflix and you have noticed the good and the bad, the strengths and the weaknesses of human nature which bring with them blessings and curses, life and death so to speak.
The good news, is that those who have inherited the positon of King and Queen of heaven and earth are neither power hungry, nor cruel, mean nor selfish; they love and care for their people with perfect love and kindness. They are good, beyond our wildest imagination.
Jesus and Mary are the ultimate Royal Family, and we are invited to live in their Kingdom. The Kingdom of Heaven is a kingdom of love and peace, joy and kindness. It is a kingdom where greed and selfishness, cruelty and fear are not allowed!
When the course of her earthly life was finished, Mary was assumed into heaven where she was crowed, Queen of heaven and earth. She exercises her authority in love and peace with Jesus our King.
I invite you to imagine a kingdom like this. One where peace and harmony rule over discord and division, a kingdom where you know that justice is done and love reigns! It might not be easy, depending on your experience of this world, but remember, this world is just a stepping stone to the next. Let us pray with ever growing confidence:
“Thy Kingdome come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!”
