Season of Creation

Resources for the Liturgy Office Transition to Creation

September 1st, marks the beginning of the Season of Creation in the Catholic Church and in many Christian churches across the world. The group preparing resources for the Irish Church have suggested the music below for the Sunday liturgies of the season that concludes on the Feast of St Francis, October 4. While, unfortunately, we cannot yet have the gift of experiencing the ministry of our choirs at this point in time, cantors and organists/accompanists are invited to look at this list and draw from it in the coming weeks.

An excellent document with prayers and reflections prepared by the Federation of Asian Bishop’s Conference – Transition to Creation

Suggestions for Music:
• St Francis’ Canticle
• Our God Reigns
• All Creatures Great and Small
• Ag Criost an Siol
• For the Beauty of the Earth (John Rutter)

• Laudate Omnes Gentes (Taizé)
• Here I am Lord
• How Great Thou Art
